Frankenheads

This is the first digital exhibition of physical artworks on chain by Constantine Nicholas. The ‘Frankenheads’ series of works on canvas, board and paper explore the figurative head as an abstract image. Where do the lines of reality and abstraction start and end? What is defined and what is not? Is it that an elliptical shape, the semblance of eyes and teeth to make us perceive recognised forms? These works challenge this premise – to make the abstract realistic and realistic something else.

Exhibition runs from July 5, 2023.
